Presidential politics, April 19 — mouthy Jesse Ventura, Luciferian RFK Jr, Watermelon Oreos

I had already written this up yesterday, but we now have a new top story!

Jesse "the Body" Ventura (because his stanners hate that) now says he can beat Biden and Trump. So? Get No Labels or whomever to nominate you.

As of right now, this is just Jesse running his fucking mouth just like in 2020. He wanted the Green Party nomination back then, but didn't want to campaign for it — like Cornel West this year. He wanted it handed to him on a platter. More bluntly, as I said then? He wanted his ass kissed. But, he avoided directly saying that, showing that he's a better retail politician than West. (That's a low bar to hurdle; my left butt cheek is a better retail politician than West.) When that didn't happen, to be blunt again? He became chickenshit.

Anyway, how that all played out?

Some of Jesse's stanners used Dario Hunter as a stalking horse. (You did.) He was, I first thought, too dumb to notice that, but per link below, he eventually admitted this was deliberate. But, the effort failed anyway. Sorry, William Pounds, Primo Nutbar especially, and other pseudoleftists, conspiracy theorists, etc. It's all true. The fun after that was when, after going all hasbara in the campaign (ye gads, imagine him this year) Hunter played the race card.

RFK Jr. NOT not running as a Libertarian. He said he thought he would get on all 50 states' ballots on his own line, either by his individual name or a carve-out/SPAC third party created for that purpose. A couple of thoughts following.

First, I figured all along it would be too hard a fit to go Libertarian. He'd have to junk his environmental stances, which would sink his standing with one portion of his backers.

Second, he and his advisors are clearly looking for every loophole or angle in various states' ballot access laws, and finding them. Will state legislatures, under duopoly prodding, close more of these in the next year or so?

Third, it seems clearer than ever that the LP was in part just a stalking horse for Bob Jr. LP Chair Angela McArdle, running a party that's going broke and facing internal dissents, said she would not comment for "at least a few days."

I guess, per that link, that Bob Jr. is now McArdle's Luciferian master.

I'm not sure what the Muslim word for "Oreo" might be. Maybe, per the watermelon symbol for Palestinians, we could adopt the US frontier West's phrase of "all hat, no cattle," to "all rind, no red." Anyway, "on the US street" but politically engaged Muslim-Americans are seeing plenty of "watermelon Oreos" among leadership of groups claiming to represent the Muslim-American populace, but really, representing the Genocide Joe Biden re-election campaign. Mondoweiss has details.

Remember when #WallbuilderJoe, just a few weeks ago, said that Congress had to give him the authority to tighten up the border with Mexico? Guess that was another lie. Per Axios, he told Univision that he's going to do a Trump-style executive order. He's already kept Trump's Section 42 in place by other means, with the buggy app to apply for asylum. Now this.

Trump has officially opposed supporting a national ban on abortion. How many of the right-to-life wingers will stay home in their disappointment? That said, this is THE WORST granting of on-background commenting ever, with the weaselshits at Axios talking about a number of Rethuglicans in Congress "breathing a sigh of relief" over this, but letting them comment on background, namelessly.

Cornel West being Cornel West again. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. got national news hype of some sort out of his vice-presidential announcement, including through the use of various leaks before it became official. West just "drops it out there" in an interview with Tavis Smiley, when he announced Melina Abdullah as his choice. (There was a press release, but it came out AFTER the interview, and I suspect was written on the fly afterward.)

Warmonger Joe has decided NOT to restock the Strategic Petroleum Reserve after all. Reading between the lines? That means Team Biden expects oil prices to go up further, which means inflation will go up.

Gee, can you guys think of a country with LOTS of oil? Let me help you out. Its name starts with an "R."

Mormons, and especially Mormon women, showing less hypocrisy than Protestants of the Religious Right, are tilting Biden. Won't matter in Utah and Idaho. Will matter in Nevada and Aridzona. And, downballot, not just in presidential races. Many of these people say they feel abandoned by the GOP in general.

OTOH, Biden's continuing to lose ground among younger non-white voters.

Jesse the Body or Aaron Rodgers as Bob Jr's Veep? Tis to laugh — but what about Mike Rowe?

Seen via Red Satan, the New York Times reports that Mr. Dudebro Antivaxxer and fake Green Ventura are on Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s vice-presidential shortlist.

UPDATE: And, per an extension to the header, we have a third known commodity. "Dirty Jobs" Mike Rowe is in the running for one more dirty job, he told NBC, while also describing Bob Jr's whole vetting process.

And ye fucking gads. I can't wait to say more.

But, I shall. Apparently CNN didn't get everybody, or else they had a second page on their chyron that Mike Rowe missed. Rumor has it that he's already got a winner, and it's Nicole Shanahan, main funder of his nutters antivaxxer Super Bowl commercial. Tweet thread here.

Per a tweet by Rowe of seeing himself on an airport terminal teevee? Bob Jr's other nondenied candidates are:

Snake-oil salesman Tony Robbins. Who said no after Bob Jr. reportedly asked TWICE.

Antivaxxer attorney Tricia Lindsay (that's what lobbying for "medical freedom" is, per this YouTube).

Back to the original.

Red Satan focuses on Rodgers, wondering how he'd square running for office while trying to run the Jets offense at the same time. Fair enough question. Does he have ego enough to think he can pull it off? You bet he does.

Ventura? Further confirms what I said four years ago that he was a fake Green. Also, per the shenanigans behind trying to get him the Green nomination then, though he's making the right noises, I don't see him as running as No. 2 to anybody.

Oh, and yes, "Jesse the Body," because I remember well from 2020 that his dudebros hate that.

Maybe he's using the new press notices to try to triangulate to get No Labels' prez nomination?

In addition? Don't forget that vice-presidential shortlists are an exercise in political PR.

Also, per that "shenanigans" link, it's when I lost the last shred of respect for the GP. More here from 2021. Well, the last shred before realizing that Jill Stein was running as a three-time retread who hasn't divested her 2016 oil, tobacco and defense stock-laden mutual funds.

As for Bob Jr? If he's looking for younger voters, he'd be FAR smarter to go with Rodgers. Let us note that, in an election cycle where many voters are worried about the age of both duopoly candidates, Ventura is himself a few years older than Bob Jr and in his 70s. (Bob Jr. just turned 70.)

That said, the degree to which the DNC instantly bashed it is a sign of being afraid.

Per this piece, it's interesting that Tulsi Gabbard, Rand Paul and Andrew Yang were all contacted and all said no. Andrew Yang? He's a Zionist supporter, yeah, but not an antivaxxer. Rand Paul's still a loyal Republican. Why either were contacted, I don't know. Tulsi? Maybe a bit more of a shot there, but speaking of vice-presidential shortlists, I think she's still smoking the crack that says she MIGHT be on Trump's. Update: Fucking Tony Robbins? Is he the Veep candidate to make Bob look sane?

As for Veep qualification levels? With Kamala is a Cop and her various babblings as Biden's wingman (except when she wanted to do a mild bit of semi-truth telling on Gaza and Team Biden cut her off), the DNC doesn't have a lot of complaining room.

That said, Rodgers is also a Sandy Hook conspiracy theorist. That's one thing I'm pretty sure Ventura also is not. Update: Rodgers is saying "taint so," and also in an update at the original link. Could this be #BlueAnon operatives? The first source CNN cited, Pamela Brown? Veteran MSM journalist. Daughter of John Y. Brown and Phyllis George. John's daddy was a Democratic congresscritter. His one son, III, was Kentucky Secretary of State as a Dem. Given that Democratic national talking heads have already promised a robust effort against third-party and independent candidates .... and we'll just leave that there. (My thoughts on that here.)

Since the second source has anonymity, I don't know if they have a possible political angle or not. But, the fact that they've been allegedly been harassed before? Discomfiting if true.

Update: Rodgers is also a conspiracy theorist about weirdly "esoteric" (within the conspiracy theory world, that is) things.

Green Party 2024: More than ever, Just.Another.Political.Party™

In the wake of Cornel West announcing a month ago that he would abandon his bid for the Green Party nomination and instead run as an independent because Jill Stein and friends wouldn't clear the path for him enough  ....

I wonder just how much "lane-clearing" Stein promised West. I wonder who else she had roped in. I'd love to find all this out, but, like with some of the machinations in the 2020 Green Party nomination battle, which haven't come out despite my (and others, I presume) asking, or like Stein's head-fakes with her 2016 recount fund, I'm not holding my breath.

Don't forget that before Howie Hawkins gained steam to the 2020 finish line, Stein also reportedly entertained pushing Jesse the Body Ventura (his suck-ups hate him being called that) as he was looking at tagging RFK Jr. as his veep. (That's why I refused to cosign bullshit any more and openly called her an antivaxxer.)

Another reason to call the Just.Another.Political.Party™.

Of course, West, with this gambit (like Jesse in 2020) deserves the Just.Another.Politician.™ label.

Update, Nov. 9: It's worse. Although Stein and her 2016 Veep, Ajamu Baraka, had pledged to beat the bushes for new Green Party prez candidates after West did his Lucy van Pelt and pulled the football away from the GP, the "bush-beating" has yielded ...

Two-time retread Stein filing to run again.

Why Kinky won’t win; comparing him to Jesse

1. Ventura was the only independent in the race in Minnesota; Kinky has to share that appellation with Grandma.

2. The media market is MUCH different. In Minnesota, the only major media market is Minneapolis-St. Paul. Outside of that, you have the medium-small markets of Rochester, Duluth and Moorhead. MSP makes up half the state’s population.

Here, though, Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston are each as big as the entire state of Minnesota. Austin and San Antonio are both major media markets as well. El Paso is a semi-major market. McAllen/Lower Valley and Laredo/Middle Valley are both midlevel markets. Abilene, Midland/Odessa, Amarillo, Waco/Temple/Belton and Longview/Marshall are all as big as, if not bigger, than all of the non-MSP markets in Minnesota.

In short, it takes a LOT of money for TV buys to compete in a statewide race in Texas. The Internet hasn’t changed things that much — at least not yet.

Name recognition may offset some of that, but it’s not like Kinky, nickname and all, has the same recognition level as The Redheaded Stranger himself, Mr. Willie Nelson.

3. The “getting serious” factor. Kinky could have been better coached than he was for the Oct. 5 debate without being sanitized or put in lockdown. And he wasn’t. Ventura had actually had previous political experience, so he didn’t need quite as much coaching or handling.

So, that leaves Grandma and Verizon wondering if they can’t get voters to coalesce behind them to knock off Gov. Helmethair.
