A skeptical leftist's, or post-capitalist's, or eco-socialist's blog, including skepticism about leftism (and related things under other labels), but even more about other issues of politics. Free of duopoly and minor party ties. Also, a skeptical look at Gnu Atheism, religion, social sciences, more.
Note: Labels can help describe people but should never be used to pin them to an anthill.

Pete Sessions, earmark hypocrite
Of course, this isn’t anywhere near the first case of BS from the Dallas congressman, but Mr. Anti-Earmark steering an earmark of nearly $2 mil to a company not even in his district has moved the Sessions bar even lower.

Believe Pete Sessions or your lying eyes?
Dallas GOP Congressman Pete Sessions insists he doesn’t know disgraced (and surely, soon-to-be-indicted) financier Allen Stanford.
But, here and here, Talking Points Memo has some smoking gun photos for your lying eyes.
In the online world of today, with Google Images, why are people so stupid as to utter such easily refutable lies?

Pete Sessions and Martin Frost – join John Cornyn with Allen Stanford
Current Dallas GOP Congressman Pete Sessions, pictured here, and former Metroplex Democrat and Caucus Chairman Martin Frost, discussed in detail halfway down this story, were kind of cozy with disgraced financier/con artist Allen Stanford.
File this one under “duopoly”; the Change We Need To Believer In is empowering third parties.
NOT filed under duopoly, though, is that Sessions and Cornyn have so far refused to join the rush to divest themselves of Stanford donation moneys. (That does not count the 50 grand Stanford gave to underwrite the Black Tie and Boots inaugural ball, either.)

Pete Sessions gets Boehner support for No. 4 House GOP slot
Dallas Congressman Pete Sessions got a boost in his bid to head the Republican National Congressional Committee - an endorsement from House Minority Leader John Boehner:
Coming from a metropolitan district that has suburban as well as central-city areas, and in a long-time GOP area trending more Democratic, perhaps Boehner believes Sessions has some demographic-related insights.
“Tom Cole has guided the NRCC through a difficult time for our party, and I’m sincerely grateful for his service to our team. But I believe having Pete Sessions at the helm of the NRCC in the next cycle will give House Republicans our best shot at rebuilding a majority coalition,” Boehner said in a statement. “Pete has the skills needed to recruit top-tier candidates and give them the support they need to challenge a Democratic Congress. ... We need Pete Sessions at the leadership table as the next chairman of the NRCC.”

Show Pete Sessions – and ‘little Petey’ – the money AND the ladiezzz
Dallas’ most obtuse Congressman just took a turn for the worse, soliciting money in the “beautiful town”of Las Vegas.
How beautiful? Here’s the homepage of Forty Deuce, the “burlesque club” where Sessions was raising his money…
And “raising” who knows what else. A “beautiful town” can have plenty of soft inducements to raising … whatever.
Hey, every conservative should have a “Patriot missile” ready to “rise to the occasion,” right?
Did Pete the “bad Congressman” ask for a little “personal discipline” out there, too? Did he leave a “tip” for any ladies?
And, given Sessions’ recent honor from Focus on the Family, just what does James Dobson think of this?
Given that Dr. Dobson is engaged in his own personal oral obscenities by trying to justify his pending endorsement of John McCain, his mouth is probably too full to talk right now.

Pete Sessions has a genuine, certified nutbar on his staff
For the past couple of days, a friend of mine said her office has been getting faxes from someone, with the fax transmission code saying “Pete Sessions” at the top. I saw a copy of one, saw the fax number, and went to Sessions’ website.
Sure enough, it matches the 972-392-0505 fax number for his Dallas office.
The faxer is in full blown Free Republic mode, tin hats and all. He/she literally talks about “the satellites spying on me.”
If any of y’all know Will Pryor, pass it on.
