Rezko singing – who’s in trouble?

prosecutors about Barack Obama, even though Rezko said the feds are pushing him for Obama dirt. Several months ago, Rezko wrote the judge in his case:

“Your Honor, the prosecutors have been overzealous in pursuing a crime that never happened,: he wrote. “They are pressuring me to tell them the wrong things that I supposedly know about Gov. (Rod) Blagojevich and Sen. Barack Obama.”

It’s unclear from the story whether that was before or his conviction, but Rezko stands by that story vis-à-vis Obama, and Illinois Republicans tend to agree.

Gov. Blagojevich? Different story. Rezko is reportedly singing like a canary.

Looks like the Preznit has a Rezko connection

Supposedly Barack Obama’s millstone weight, Tony Rezko, was at a 2003 holiday reception for President Bush. White House spokesman Scott Stanzel admitted Rezko was there Dec. 3, 2003. And, he apparently got there through connections with a Bush big-time fundraiser.

I’m sure, now that this doorway has been popped open a crack, Rezko-watching is going to take on a whole new dimension.

Hell, next thing you know, Smilin’ Jack Abramoff will turn out to have links to Rezko.

Obama fesses up to getting more Rezko money

Presidential candidate Barack Obama now admits he got as much as $250,000 for his various political races from indicted Chicago wheeler-dealer Tony Rezko. That’s well up from the $150,000 Obama had previously claimed.

Since this is not a rounding error, the question is, how much of a dent does this give to Obama’s record for probity, and for his attempts to distance himself from Rezko?

Second, why did this come out? Did either the Chicago Sun-Times or the Chicago Tribune (Obama sat down with both papers’ editorial boards to reveal this) have some goods on the dollar amounts in question?

And, in a bit of snark, since Obama said he gave all of Rezko’s campaign contributions to charity, will he be cutting a check for another $100,000?
