Krugman pegs ‘Preznit Dilbert’

Paul Krugman has it exactly right: the economic “regulatory reform” package trotted out by President Bush and Treasury Secretary Henry “Who are you going to believe, your lying eyes or my Moody’s confidence” Paulson is as much a sham as the periodic office reorganizations conducted by Dilbert’s clueless boss in the comic of that name.



Per Krugman:

The Treasury has, with great fanfare, announced — you know what’s coming — its support for a rearrangement of the boxes on the org chart. OCC, OTS, and CFTC are out; PFRA and CBRA are in. Whatever.

Here’s the brilliant Paulson (oh, Nature Conservancy, can you dissociate yourself from him, for the love of doorknobs?):

“I do not believe it is fair or accurate to blame our regulatory structure for the current turmoil.”

Well, that’s on the same level of lying as the Preznit himself, Uncle Fester and Alberto Gonzales.
