Either we will achieve an awareness of our place in the living and life-giving organism of our planet, or we will face the threat that our evolutionary journey may be set back thousands or even millions of years. That is why we must see this issue as a challenge to behave responsibly and not as a harbinger of the end of the world.
He also answers libertarian types who are worried about personal liberties being infringed through massive government intervention on climate issues:

Cutting and pasting out of context remarks might lead one to believe that Vaclav Havel is an environmentalist. To his great credit he is not. He believes our way of life is threatened by the environmental movement, particularly the myth of Anthropogenic Climate Change.
It's easy claiming what someone is or is not without any quotes or links to back up one's claims.
That said, Havel certainly appears to have enviro bona fides, including on this, and in opposition to compatriot Vaclav Klaus.
So, unless you have some clear evidence, what's clear is that you seem to be wrong.
