It’s called special user fees.
The NPS is now charging fees for things such as wedding photography in national parks.
And why not? It’s additional wear and tear beyond usual use, and a lot of city parks, such as the Dallas Arboretum, I believe, have similar policies.
A skeptical leftist's, or post-capitalist's, or eco-socialist's blog, including skepticism about leftism (and related things under other labels), but even more about other issues of politics. Free of duopoly and minor party ties. Also, a skeptical look at Gnu Atheism, religion, social sciences, more.
Note: Labels can help describe people but should never be used to pin them to an anthill.

I waffle on special use fees. Yes, certain "uses" add "additional wear and tear", but the Organic Act, the founding legislation of the NPS, said that the parks are to be enjoyed by ALL the people, not just those with money.
Ranger, I've been to most the parks you've worked. What took you back out of the Service?
I'm kind of with you on the Organic Act, but don't think the authors of it viewed engagement/wedding photography as "enjoyment." I say charge these people and charge them fully.
Now, if you REALLY wanted to charge people for "non-enjoyment," impose a dollar a minute fee for cell phone use inside all national parks.
