#DemsInPhilly: The Sanders Sellout

No, I'm not talking about the endorsement of Hillary Clinton.

The lis in support of that, the last the worst, is what I'm talking about.

Sorry, Bernie, but I'm unfamiliar with Hillary Clinton ever fighting for universal health care. I have no idea what you're talking about.

There were enough problematic statements before that (chief among them being your fudging on just how much to hike the minimum wage) but that was an outright corker.

Then, one minute after you finish your speech, your social media staff Tweet asking for money to continue your revolution.

MAYBE, after November, penance and an apology from you.

Not now. That money is going to Jill Stein and the Green Party.

I was almost certain to vote Green even if you had gotten the nomination. Nonetheless, your campaign offered the hope of pushing Democrats leftward, and if not that you personally offered the possibility of being a useful cudgel against party leadership.

You've now forfeited that.

My only major takeaway from the first night? God, was Elizabeth Warren awful.

  1. Oh boy. I was going to watch Bernie's speech yesterday but was fearful of another litany of things Hillary "believes in" or "understands" that I know damn well she doesn't give a flying fig about. Listening to Dems talk about healthcare is the worst -- one of these times I'll have an apoplectic stroke (and me with no coverage, too). Sounds as if I dodged a bullet.
