Mayor Hatchetwoman wants to be Veep

I’ve spent more than a decade as a community newspaper editor, including one stint at a town only about half the size of Wasilla, Alaska.

And I can say with a high degree of assurance that most small-town mayors do not run their offices with Sarah Palin’s level of personal vindictiveness.

Nor does any elected official as high up as a governor, or any appointed staffer this side of Karl Rove, deliberately use personal e-mails for government business in a deliberate attempt to avoid open records laws.

Here’s your pull quote, speaking of her run for governor:
“She was fresh, and she was tomorrow,” said Michael Carey, a former editorial page editor for The Anchorage Daily News. “She just floated along like Mary Poppins.”(Emphasis added.)

Oh, and doesn’t calling your political opponents “haters” make you sound like you’re a 16-year-old stoned out on one too many teen movies?
