By doing things such as talking about the top 25 percent of incomes, rather than the top 10 percent, top 5 percent, or top 1 percent, Burns tries to make the upper middle class fear that liberals are after them and that they’re paying more than their fair share already.
Coming from the man who wants the nation to show fiscal discipline to pay for a non-existent Social Security crisis, this is hypocrisy of the first order.
Get the upper middle class to pay for Pell Grants and guaranteed student loans? Mortgage tax deductions? Nother story.
Scott Burns can be interesting, even provocative at times. At other times, like this, he can be a hack job.
