There’s Bob Barr instead.
He’s a former GOP “name,” and one who is more wingnut than McCain, for sure.
However, his stance against government snooping on terror might push away a fair amount of potential GOP voters.
If Dems had an ounce of brains (we’ll see on that), with the edge on money over the GOP, the Democratic National Committee would get 527 group support for Barr up and running pronto.
