Wanted: A good union steward at Lancaster High

Think about it, especially anybody on staff that has worked in another district that had a strong union presence.

  1. I think this is something that has been long time in coming. Without representation, the administration at LISD is capable of virtually anything without the teachers, staff and custodians in mind. They have already exhibited disregard toward the well being of their important resource with flagrant abuse of class size, scheduling and duties. Their contract is severely single-sided, there is no collective bargaining power and no protection from the totalitarian mindset the administration exerts on its faculty and staff. Fear is what permeates throughout the district.

  2. This year has been the worst year ever to be a teacher in Lancaster. Pay raise? What pay raise!? The administration may talk about classroom management but there's no campus management. What gives? Why are teachers leaving in droves? Keep an eye out for a new year faculty turn over. I bet their human resource s department will be spinning come Feburary or March. They sad thing is that they are going to lose veterans for new and inexperienced teachers come fall.
