Example A would be Tyson. I don't think he goes to a lot of those events, whether of skeptics or of atheists. It seems that the main purpose of these skeptics groups is selling magazines, books and DVDs about skepticism' - or getting folks to attend thousand-dollar weekends at skeptics' conferences.<br /><br />They'd better hope their supporters don't get too skeptical or they'll have to find real jobs ;)<br /><br />OTOH: There are authors who write books and magazines on pop science. There are folks who work at museums, planetariums and aquariums.
