Does this also mean you naturally think you are better than average because of this comparison?

Maybe its even worse for the US combining a colonial past plus its imperial manifest destiny thinking. Throw in the economic and military power that came with it and you get a double dose.

Simonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00540668068672572303noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7532871.post-56782341271743864242014-04-05T10:47:01.232-05:002014-04-05T10:47:01.232-05:00Good point. Britain avoided the worst effects of the two World Wars and others in Europe by being an island, so partial parallel.

That said, how did Canada become such an outlier? Or does it just seem to be an outlier due to the soft bigotry of comparison with the US, or maybe a bit of Canadian myth-making?Gadflyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13075757287807731373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7532871.post-67913942175617669862014-04-05T08:52:11.606-05:002014-04-05T08:52:11.606-05:00You won't get any disagreement there. But at least in this the US is still number one.Simonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00540668068672572303noreply@blogger.com
