I was amazed to learn that Gov. Ross Sterling once <a href="http://fuelfix.com/blog/2015/01/14/shell-scraps-plans-for-multi-billion-dollar-petrochemical-plant/#29569-6" rel="nofollow">ordered the Texas National Guard into the oil patches</a> to limit continuing oversupply. (I must have missed that part in <a href="http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/169354.The_Prize" rel="nofollow">Yergin's <i>The Prize</i></a>).
